JOB Description
Customer Service Representative / Receptionist
MFM Building Products is a growing manufacturer of roofing and waterproofing membranes used in commercial and residential construction. We are looking to fill an opening in our Customer Service Department.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an effective and positive business relationship with customers, potential customers, MFM sales representatives, and outside vendors
Receive and process customer orders via phone, email and fax, as well as matters pertaining to freight, returns, price quotations and other customer service matters
Acquire freight rates and make shipping arrangements for outbound orders
Prepare and handle all appropriate documents and correspondence from customers, including debits, credits, pricing, complaints, returns, etc.
Stays abreast of freight updates, freight negotiations with outside carriers, and resolve freight disputes
Process and provide paperwork for export orders, including proforma invoices, commercial invoices, packing declarations, and other documents pertaining to export shipments
Assist with clerical duties such as filing, answering phone calls, assisting visitors, etc.
Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in our Corporate Office – no weekends or travel required
Serve as front desk receptionist, including greeting visitors, answering and routing incoming calls, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and maintaining a tidy and professional reception area
Schedule appointments and meetings as requested and assist other departments with administrative support as needed
And all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum three years’ work experience in a customer-focused position (sales, customer service, logistics, scheduling, inventory control, etc.).
Proficient in all Microsoft office products including Word and Excel, as well as learning our in-house order entry system
Ability to handle multiple tasks with exceptional organization skills in a fast-paced office environment
Exceptional phone and written skills to relay information in a concise, professional manner
Must possess analytical abilities, detailed record keeping, accuracy and ability to follow through with customer needs
Ability to work with all levels of the company and communicate with diverse groups
Must possess the technical ability to understand our product line and product applications
Experience in the roofing or general construction industry is extremely beneficial
