Ultra HT Listed with California State Fire Marshall for use in WUI Areas
MFM is pleased to announce that our Ultra HT Wind & Water Seal underlayment has been approved by the California State Fire Marshall for use in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas. WUI is the zone of transition between unoccupied land and human development. It is the line, area or zone where structures and other human development meet or intermingle with undeveloped wildland or vegetative fuels. This area is considered the most critical area of wildfire risk.
WUI areas continue to grow at a pace of approx. 2 million acres per year as development continues into these wildlands. As WUI grows, so does the risk of additional fires in these zones. Fire risks include brush fires, grass fires, forest fires and human outdoor activities like camping.

Ultra HT is a 45-mil, self-adhering roofing underlayment that has met the standards for use in WUI areas as outlined on our Ultra HT Installation Instructions posted on our website.
